Description

At the northwest end of Crete, at the edge of Kissamos, there is a wild, inhospitable almost peninsula, ending in one of the most exotic Mediterranean beaches. Balos is one of the most imposing and most famous icons of the prefecture of Chania and stands opposite two small islets, Imeri and Agia Gramvousa. In the first, the boats daily disembark visitors who want to go up to the Venetian castle, which in the years of the struggle was the base for the excursions of the Cretan revolutionaries against the Turks.
